This bow is very short and stocky. The type was very popular as a sporting and cavalry bow in the late 15th and 16th centuries. It is rather oval in cross-section, and comes with tapered head, cheekpiece, and quarrel rest. We use 3-inch stock wood for this, to make it nicely rounded.
